Another step home is about taking one more step away from the city and towards living full-time on the Coast. Fellow ferry hands will know very well what '16 rings out' means in the song intro ... The song describes the sights of daily life on the Sunshine Coast. There's some inspiration from 'Wonder Where The Lions Are' - by Bruce Cockburn which I started hearing when I came to the Coast - mainly through Joe Stanton's performance of it. In my song the Bay is Davis Bay and I'm describing the scenery around Port Stalashen where I lived at the time of writing.
