Get it fresh and local! Check out The Farm Gate Winter Market at the Roberts Creek Hall Kitchen every Thursday from 3 to 6 pm until March. Eggs, chicken, greens, flour and more from Promised Land Farm, Country Haven Farm and The Flour Peddler.
On Saturyday (14th) at 2pm, there is a FREE Beauty workshop for Girls at the Gibsons Library. Tweens & teens ages 11 to 18 are invited to learn makeup and beauty tips from professional make-uo artist Sarah Coward. Please call 604-886-2130 for more information.
The Pender Harbour Music Society presents “The Sojourners”. You’ll here soul, spirit & gospel sounds at the concert which starts at 2pm on Sunday (Jan. 15th) at the Pender Harbour School of Music . Tickets are $20 & avaiable at Harbour Insurance in Madeira Park; John Henry's Marina, Garden Bay; the Sechelt Visitors Information Centre & Gaia’s Fair Trade in Gibsons.
Also on Saturday (Jan. 14th), the Sunshine Coast Botantical Garden Society presents “Armchair travel to Canada ’s Far North” with Glen Paterson. This legendary Vancouver-area gardener has travelled north many times, even to the northern tip of Ellesmere Island .
Be at the Sparling Pavilion at 5941 Mason Road in Sechelt at 2pm. Following will be “a garden book” sale. Fill a bag with books of your choice $ 10.
At 4pm on Saturday (14th), St. Hilda’s Anglican Church in Sechelt is holding a fundraising concert for typhoon victims in the Phillippines. Admission is by donation and all proceeds will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross to help the more than 45,000 people who were left homeless.
Next Saturday (Jan. 21st) at 8pm, the Gibsons Heritage Playhouse presents Celso Machado and Jou Tou. Celso blends his brazalian music with many other world music sounds. Tickets are $20 and available at Laedeli (Lay de lye) in Sunnycrest mall.
And the 10 piece powerhouse funk/soul/jazz band SoulStream returns to the Roberts Creek Hall on the 21st. Performance starts at 9pm. Tickets are $20 and available at Coast Books in Gibsons; Strait Music in Sechelt and MELOmania in Roberts Creek .
